A 10-day Vipassana retreat is not exactly a holiday. You’ll spend hours meditating every day, observe noble silence, follow a strict schedule, give up your phone and other distractions, and spend a lot of time with your own thoughts.
Knowing what you’re getting yourself into can make the experience much easier, and there is a lot of useful information on their page, including what is Vipassana and the art of living in peace without miscery, where it came from, and the Code of Discipline. One thing is certain, before you commit, you should know what you get yourself into and read all the information carefuly available on their website. But even with this intellectual knowledge, it is simply impossible to prepare yourself fully - this is why in the below video I share a lot of Yoga knowledge and my personal preparation that I believe made my experience easier and allowed me to get deeper once I overcame my mind.
If you are interested to hear about my personal experience of Vipassana, go ahead to this page to watch my full story.
So, before a further ado, here are 5 things I would recommend doing before you go to prepare your body and mind before this deeply transformative experience.
